Block 2- Week 3

 The week three did not have a drama lesson however only had a lecture that was focusing of explaining Philosophy of children by Matthew Lipman. The lecture describes the This lesson with Dr Kate described the concepts as follows: Philosophy for Children (P4C) is an educational approach that encourages children to engage in philosophical thinking through open dialogue and inquiry. Developed by Matthew Lipman in the 1970s, P4C is rooted in the belief that children are naturally curious and capable of engaging with complex ideas when given the right environment. Block 2-Week5

 The week 5 lesson of drama mainly focus on rehashing for the play that we are expected to do. During this lesson there were people deployed to observe our rehearsal to monitor, guide and advise us based how we performed. This acted as the support system as the method of scaffolding. After this session we were arranged in circle to do ice breaking activities which was aimed to activate and make students move out of their comfort zone. The first action revolves around one person entering the center and do a certain action then other students imitate him/her. In the second activity we one student had to be at the center and do an any action until the other students ask him/her what they are doing then they say any activity for that student who asked to do it.                   On Friday, each group of three (3) members had to showcase their draft to the whole students in the lecture in preparation to the formal exam that will be held ...

Block 2- Week 2

 On the drama lesson in week 2, the focus was on puppet making where students were provided with materials and tools to create their own puppets. This helps to develop their level of creativity and fine motor organs as the small muscles such wrist, fingers and hand are actively moving in the process of creating the puppet. This is beneficial to a foundation phase teacher as provide and add to their knowledge of playful activities that they can give learners. It also helps in social skills as leaners get an opportunity to engage with others and share ideas on how to make their creations look attractive. 

Block 2- Week 1

 In the first week of block 2 in the drama lesson, the lesson started with warmups as usual to ensure flexibility and reduce the risk of injury. This helps gross motor and find motor development as it prepares both large and small muscles of the body. Some of the activities challenged my ability of flexibility.  Furthermore, the second activity practiced was bout going around the classroom space in greeting to explore the space. This act as an ice breaker to make participants to move out of their comfort zone and release the tension that prevent their body from being active. This promoted social engagement in the classroom space which maximize the participation of students. Block 2- Week 4

 In the week four of block 2 drama lesson, there several activities that were made. The first activity we did was being paired with other students and have to teach one another a hand clubbing game. This assist in development of hand- eye coordination. The song used in this activity can be used to teach a certain content to leaners. In further extend to promote social interactions and active leaners amongst the leaners in the classroom. The second activity made involved singing a song that describe a certain similarity amongst people and those people have to enter the circle and dance. Secondly, there was a song that made people to count from one to ten then if the number ten arrives while a person is clapped in their hand, they have to be out of the game and stay at the center of the circle. If a person fails to clap in their hand, unfortunately they are the ones who will lose.
