Block 2- Week 1
In the first week of block 2 in the drama lesson, the lesson started with warmups as usual to ensure flexibility and reduce the risk of injury. This helps gross motor and find motor development as it prepares both large and small muscles of the body. Some of the activities challenged my ability of flexibility.
Furthermore, the second activity practiced was bout going around the classroom space in greeting to explore the space. This act as an ice breaker to make participants to move out of their comfort zone and release the tension that prevent their body from being active. This promoted social engagement in the classroom space which maximize the participation of students. The students were also given task to design the lesson plan that has the steps of physical activitiesThe core lecture on Friday, we discussed about the P4C strategies which in the philosophy of children that focuses on the educational approach that aimed to develop leaner's critical thinking and philosophical reasoning. This approach is mainly centered in the lesson that discussion of questions that are open ended and are open to wide range of perspectives. A teacher will create questions that allows further questioning of leaners upon their answering of the other questions.
The lesson about P4C and drama lesson have some sort of the relationship and linked to one another. This is mainly because both the physical activities made in the drama lesson and this educational approach contribute to holistic development. P4C develops critical thinking, reasoning, empathy while the Physical activity supports physical health, emotional regulation, and social development. Regular physical activity has been shown to improve attention, memory, and cognitive flexibility, which can enhance participation in P4C sessions that demand mental focus and reflective thinking.
